An Institutional Account is intended for the head of the Technology Transfer Office (or for the
representative of your institution who is legally responsible for material transfers) to have an
overview of all the plasmids that have been either ordered or deposited by members of your institution,
and all the associated Material Transfer Agreements.
There are three ways to set up an Institutional Account:
Option 1: An institutional account is automatically generated when a member of your institution wants to deposit a plasmid.
The head of the Technology Transfer Office will receive an email requesting to set up a Framework Agreement with the European
Plasmid Repository. This email will also have a link to activate the institutional account:
Option 2: When a member of your institution orders a plasmid, the head of the Technology Transfer office will receive
an email with an MTA to sign. This email will also contain a link to create an Institutional Account:
Option 3: This third option is more complicated than the others. Options 1 or 2 should be prioritized.
When members of your institution register with the European Plasmid Repository, they need to indicate which
institution they work for. As part of this registration process, they will enter the email address of the head of their Technology Transfer
Office. If you, as head of the Technology Transfer Office, register a new account on our website with that same email
address, it will automatically create an Institutional Account. To do so:
Click on "Register" in the upper right corner of the European Plasmid Repository homepage.
Type the name of your institution in the field, and select it from the drop-down menu.
If the name of your institution does not appear, this means no members of your institution have yet registered
on our website. Most likely you do not need an Institutional Account with us.
Check carefully all the information regarding your institution. If it is correct click "Confirm". Otherwise, click on "No - enter new institution".
Click on "enter a new lab head / PI".
Enter your name and email address as head of the Technology Transfer office. Then click on the "reCAPTCHA" and "Submit" button.
This creates a database entry for you as the head of the technology transfer department.
Next, you will create an account for yourself within the Technology Transfer department. To do so, enter your name, email, and shipping address...
Select a password. It must be between 8 and 64 characters long, and have at least one letter, one number, and one symbol.
Read the "Terms & Conditions" and the "Data Privacy Terms". If you agree with them, click on the corresponding check boxes.
Click on the "reCAPTCHA" and then on "Submit".
You're almost done !
You will now receive an email with a link. Click on the link to confirm that your email address
is correct, and your registration at the European Plasmid Repository is complete !
Until you have confirmed your email address by clicking on the link, you will not be able to login to the European
Plasmid Repository website. If you don't receive the email within a few minutes, please check your SPAM folder.
You can check that your Institutional Account has been set up correctly by loggin in, and checking that the
item "Institutional Dashboard" now appears in the menu. If this is not the case, please contact us at mta@plasmids.eu
Note: once the Institutional Account has been set up by the head of the Technology Transfer Office,
there is the option to enter the email address of an additional person who will handle the more routine approvals
of Material Transfer Agreements. For this, login to your account, go to the "Institutional Dashboard" via the menu,
select "Institutional Options", and enter the email address of this person under "Optional email address of person
to handle MTAs".
